Transmission control faults: harsh shifting, slipping, or limp mode (stuck in one gear).

P0700: Transmission Control System Malfunction — The transmission control module has asked the engine computer to turn on the check-engine light because it has detected a transmission fault. P0700 itself is a general flag — the transmission module usually stores a more specific code alongside it.
